not to double post, but i finally figured out how to make traps! pretty dense of me to figure it out now heh?

anyway, i will not let the deaths of my mason, hunter, and champion be in vain! their deaths have spurred me to increasing my fort's defensive structures five-fold to prevent more death!

i've lengthened the 'road' of walls that lead up to my entrance to wrap around my outside-workers, and i've dug a channel to wrap around the whole fort. their is only one possible entrance through the the channel and i'm currently laying cage traps and stonefall traps as fast as i can to secure it.

my only qualm is that their are still 2 small gaps in my incomplete walled garden, and i don't know how to direct my masons to holing them up. i wish there was a "DO THIS NOW!" button to set doing certain stuff at the top of my dwarve's priorities.

i also plan on making a double thick wall on the inside of my channel and laying fortifications on top of that so my future marksdwarves have a safe, high place to shoot the enemy.

and gothmog, thanks for pointing that out. theirs a lot of the wiki i haven't read yet. on the topic of mining, is it the case that digging deeper = find better ores and minerals?
