If I've missed these things in the interface I apologize.

1.  Add a furniture category to the trade goods list.  I often trade mediocre armor stands and weapon racks to the Elves in return for their wood.

2.  Add an unconditional dig command, for digging above or below water and magma without having to re-mark and resume after the warning for every single square.

Yeah I really want a furniture trade category too... having to manually find each mechanism is a pain.

That unconditional dig command would be useful, with consequences just in case you make them dig into a river.

"Urist was told that it was safe to dig there even though the rock was wet!"
"Revolt! Revolt against the leaders!"

There's a halfway decent workaround for #1 for the time being.  Make a new stockpile by your trade depot that only accepts what you want to trade (in this case, low quality weapon racks and armor stands)  Then go back to your other stockpile(s) and disallow a superset of what you want to trade (all weapon racks and armor stands).  Wait a few minutes for the dwarves to work their magic, then set your original stockpile back to normal.  You'll then be able to find the goods you wanted to sell near the top of the "All" list at the trade depot.

and as for #2... that bugs the crap out of me too.

You could always just use the select command and type in MECH to show all your mechanisms, or Cabi to show the cabinets...

@ 2.

You should check the wiki utilitie page

http://www.dwarffortresswiki.net/index.php/Utilities

under "Minor Utilities" you will find "just dig it out" (third from the bottom)

it deactivates the warnings for either magma or water or both.

It's very useful, saves a lot of nerves, too.

I don't want it turned off completely.  I want to be able to specify normal digging, or unconditional digging, depending on the circumstances.  Smiley

I'll take a look at that, next time I get a trader.  Thanks.  Smiley
