It's not working...

Roll To Dodge.

It's similar to a RPG. It uses a single six-sided die to determine everything. And I mean everything. Check out Sean's recent topic, it's the newest turn of his RTD :3

I'll use my earth non-manipulation to first bury myself to the neck in earth, preferably tight enough to put out the flames, then tunnel into the cellar to get my damn ring. I've spent so many attempts to get it that I simply am not going to give up now.

Just quote them in a new thread :3

I think we lost a bit of Sean's RTD Sad

All I can recall was that the last turn had me being set on fire. Ouch.
6  Other Projects / DF Questions / Re: Gem cutting problem on: October 27, 2008, 08:13:38 am
It's obvious.

Some tiles of any given workshop are walkable and others aren't. This can be seen by the distribution of light green and dark green tiles when building.

The unwalkable tiles have blocked off your leader dorf's exit and he's going to die unless you either make another exit or demolish the workshop :3

No, he's making one of those big enclosed gardens that can only be reached from the fortress. You have to go through the fortress to get there, and you can get to the fortress normally.

Anyway, I'd say you're well prepared for any attacks barring multiple marksgoblins.

They still make mandates.

In fact, unhappy nobles mandate more.

But trapping your hammerer is effective to prevent his justice.

Maybe some members here have other member's e-mails?

I have a few which I'll see about contacting.
10  Other Projects / DF Modding / Re: Stone Armor? on: October 26, 2008, 01:12:50 pm
Mind you, that's not all you'll need to do if you want it to require saltpeter and steel...

Let's see...

[ITEM_WEAPON:ITEM_WEAPON_BOOMSTICK]
[NAME:boomstick:boomsticks]
[DAMAGE:70:BLUDGEON]
[WEIGHT:40]
[SKILL:HAMMER]
[RANGED:CROSSBOW:BULLET]
[TWO_HANDED:0]
[MINIMUM_SIZE:5]
[MATERIAL_SIZE:3]

[ITEM_AMMO:ITEM_AMMO_BULLETS]
[NAME:bullet:bullets]
[CLASS:BULLET]
[DAMAGE:200:PIERCE]

Mind you, I'm not perfectly sure that [CLASS:BULLET] will work. I just hope so.

Then come the reactions:

[REACTION:BOOMSTICK_MAKING]
[NAME:make boomstick]
[SMELTER]
[REAGENT:1:BAR:NO_SUBTYPE:METAL:STEEL]
[REAGENT:1:STONE:NO_SUBTYPE:STONE:SALTPETER]
[PRODUCT:100:1:WEAPON:BOOMSTICK:METAL:STEEL]
[FUEL]

That ought to do it, although I'm not testing it. You'll wind up with bone and wooden bullets, mind you, and wooden or copper boomsticks for that matter too. And saltpeter is pretty rare too.

Did we mention the world generation yet? No we haven't! How silly of us.

Before starting a game you can either download a pregenerated world, or generate your own. You can change a huge amount of variables in order to make some sort of crazy hellish fire-world or perhaps a massive archipelago, but mostly you'll probably just use one of the standard, earthlike settings. The game will then generate a world map and populate it with creatures. But that's not all. Next, it simulates the history too, whether a hundred or thousand years, it will create an intricate history full of wars and heroes, massacres and their instigators, families and cities, et cetera.

Then you can play.

You people need some way to let other people who were on the forum know that some people have set up a temporary forum so that us people can converse between us people, so as to not be too disturbed by the forum being down.

I just found out today about this forum by checking the wiki...
