It is an awesome name. Since Toady is breaking save compatibility in the next release, I think he should revamp language before the release and make naming more flexible so we can name our groups and fortresses stuff like "Dwarves with Passion".

So there were separate threads on the old forum for funny fortress names and civ names and all that. But I'm going to just combine all these into one topic since it's a temporary forum and all. Post your funny named stuff here.
My current fortress is named Hugbunny and the group name of the dwarves in it is The Epidemic of Cuddling.

Step 1: Fill the main hall with goblins. Step 2: Open the retracting drawbridge, causing many of them to fall into the 7/7 water pit of carp. Watch them get torn apart and/or drown. Step 3: Watch some other goblins run up to the pit, trying to kill the carp. Watch as they get pulled in and drown and/or get torn apart.
This can happen with non-tamed carp, but it's harder to get the equipment and stuff.

Goblins will usually attack you just because they're goblins (---- by their civ name on embark instead of WAR), but them trading with you is pretty rare. I once had goblins and elves attacking me. The elves were beasts, and they attacked with an "ambush" of 20 elves, one of which was a champion riding a unicorn.
What's funny is that the unicorn wasn't invisible. So I saw a unicorn wandering around and I was like "There aren't usually unicorns around here. I'll send my military to attack it and WOAH ELVEN AMBUSH."

Someone once caught some carp with a contraption something like this: ▒≈≈≈≈▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ ▒≈≈≈≈▒▒.^..THIS ▒▒ ▒≈≈≈≈≈X.^..AREA <▒ ▒≈≈≈≈≈X.^..IS <▒ ▒≈≈≈≈▒▒.^..A K▒▒ ▒≈≈≈≈▒▒.^..ENNEL▒▒ ▒≈≈≈≈▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒
He would open the left floodgates, let fish in, wait till they got trapped, close the left floodgates, pump water out until it was 4/7 water (where fish and dwarves can survive without drowning), and let some animal tamers come in and lead the fish to the kennel where they would be tamed.

That unconditional dig command would be useful, with consequences just in case you make them dig into a river.
"Urist was told that it was safe to dig there even though the rock was wet!" "Revolt! Revolt against the leaders!"

The dwarf companion link doesn't go to anything. I believe that the "new dwarf foreman" was the thing that was a combination of Foreman and Companion, with some extra stuff. I'm almost certain it was called "dwarf manager". Yeah, it was. I found it. Here is Google's cached thread of Dwarf Manager. But the page seems to be broken and doesn't have a link to download it. With more searching, I found the official site!

On topic: try to make a lot of cool metal crafts studded with gems. The increase in value of your fortress may drag your settlers back.
Ah, gems. They're so rare but so valuable. Never cut your own because you need uncut ones for some moods. Request every single gem on low priority from the dwarven traders and they'll come with thousands of monies worth in gems. Also make raw glass to train up your gem cutters because it counts as an uncut gem. You can then cut it and decorate things with it.

You need cage traps to catch carp and other large fish. Animal traps will suffice for vermin fish. I haven't caught any before, but it sounds like fun. Do the fish add to room value? Because then I could fill an aquarium with herring and stick it in my nobles' rooms to remind them about the watery things that will happen if they step out of line.

Yeah, if he signed up to this forum then he could talk to us about the problems and we could try to help. We just need some way of avoiding having any fake toadies sign up.
