Title: Wathathafatha occurred.
Post by: jaybud4 on October 23, 2008, 10:33:50 pm
Wathathafatha = The Siege of Battles literally.
In this case, Wathathafatha = The Downtime of Ages

Wathathafatha occurred towards the end of October 08.
It was a rather lengthy downtime on the part of Toady One and His Old Hosts.
The cause of the struggle was His Old Hosts shutting him down.

As of now, the site is back up and all is well.
However, we must remember Wathathafatha such that there won't be a disastrous repeat in the future.

It was simple to go to the place where internet files go to die(temporary internet files) and copy all of them from the darkling theme.
Download. (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?xenzynzze2n)

I've use dreamhost and they rock. But nearlyfreespeech seems pretty badass if you don't use a lot of bandwidth.

Just a recommendation. I went to the wiki to check what "engraver" skills do and why it auto-defaulted to masonry along with stone detailing, and saw the notice, but if you're in contact with toady one you might want to recommend dreamhost, I've used it and it's great, and it looks like they are having a special too.

Toady uses a LOT of bandwidth.
His host was complaining about the number of SQL queries executed, too.

That's true.  But I also have my temp files cleared when I quit Firefox..  Waste of space to keep them 99% of the time...
(Of course the other 1% happened to be now, but...)
